Woodstock NY is a well-known Upstate New York town in Ulster County. It became famous because of the 1969 Woodstock Festival which was held in Bethel, New York, because of the need for a last-minute venue change. This Ulster County town is 67.84 square miles and was established as a town in 1787.
It is always teeming with visitors attending performances, visiting the many unique small shops, or dining at one of the heritage as it was the home of many artists and musicians even before the original Woodstock Festival. It is not uncommon to see musicians having a jam session or drum circle in the center of town.
