Spring flowers in a Mid Hudson garden
Showcasing Spring flowers in a Mid Hudson garden should not be a surprise since I am passionate about gardening. Here are just a few plants now in bloom.
Peonies in boom
There are a variety of peonies this one is known as the common peony. Below is an example of a Chinese Peony.

Some potential home sellers insist on waiting until Spring before listing their homes since they believe spring flowers enhances curb appeal and will make the house sell faster. Although I always encourage these sellers to consider selling at other times when competition is less. I do agree that Spring makes everything look much better after a harsh winter.
Iris is a local favorite
There are many types of irises blooming during the spring in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Here are two kinds I have in my garden.
This is a Japanese Iris, the design is amazing, and viewing a large area of Irises is breathtaking.
Bearded Lady Iris
The Beard Lady Iris is a more delicate plant, the flowers won’t last as long as the Japanese.
