Gallatin NY is Columbia County’s southern most town; and like Clermont it was once a part of Livingston Manor, it became a separate town in 1830. The population according to the latest census is about 1668 which is slightly less than it was in 1845 when it was 1675.

Schools serving Gallatin NY
There are two school district serving the town of Gallatin. Germatown school distict is in the Columbia County town of Germantown. The other school district is Pine Plains which is in Dutchess County.

At Lake Taghkanic State Park you will find camp sites, you can go hiking , fishing, biking, swimming and much more.
